The Umpire Plates at the Cosmic Baseball Association

The Rules
Major League Baseball revised and recodified its rules in 1949 organizing all the rules into ten basic divisions. Rule 9 covers the role and responsibility of the umpire:
Rule 9.02(a). Any umpire's decision which involves judgment is final. No player, manager, coach or substitute shall object to any such judgment decisions.
This rule invests a lot of responsibility in the umpire since many game situations require a judgment call. In the section of the rules entitled "General Guidelines to Umpires" the most important instruction to umpires is given: "Keep your eye everlastingly on the ball while it is in play." Only by seeing the events properly can an umpire render a correct decision.
