The COSMIC BASEBALL ASSOCIATION was created in Los Angeles, California on October 9, 1981. The original motivation for its creation came from a number of different sources:

  • A Compulsion to organize and structure years and years and years of diverse information, much of it historical and biographical, much of it inhaled from years of moving through the American educational system, some it from reading and watching and listening to books, movies, friends and family.

  • A Fascination with the interaction between numbers and words, between biology and morality, between people and nature between you and me and between us and them.

  • A Passion to create altered structures of reality as a means of personal expression.

  • A Desire to interact and associate on some creative level with the rest of the world and its inhabitants.

I consider the CBA to be, on one level, a conceptual work of art. On another, perhaps deeper and more personally meaningful level, I consider the Cosmic Baseball Association just a game to be played and enjoyed.
