Two new members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducted on July 24, 2016. The two players become members 311 and 312. This event occurs between the Republican Party National Convention and the Democratic Party National Convention. Those conventions are convened to nominate candidates to be the 45th President of the United States. This cosmic baseball game is about trying to identify national values.

Cap Anson is this game's MCP and that raises the question: Should Anson even be allowed to play in the annual cosmic baseball Hall of Fame Game?.

Anson was clearly a racist and one of the most vocal proponents of the exclusion of blacks from organized baseball. By both word and deed, Anson revealed himself as a bigot on and off the field. (Source: capanson.com)

It is generally surmised that Cap learned his blatant racism growing up around the slave owning adults in his hometown [of Marshalltown, Iowa]...Cooperstown, if you are going to deny the Hall Of Fame to the eight members of the Black Sox scandal, and to Pete Rose, and to players who have only been accused of taking PED's, then you need to rescind Anson's induction. It is wrong to celebrate Jackie Robinson's career in the same building with Adrian Anson's. It is very wrong. (Source: chicagonow.com)

The Republican Party's presidential candidate in 2016 was a businessman who understood the frustrations of the blue collar white workers in the United States. He was able to link their frustrations to the feminization of the culture.

The Democratic Party's candidate was a woman who had participated in the political establishment as a congressional legal counsel, as a first lady of the nation, as a senator from New York and as the nation's 67th secretary of state.

They both have well-documented histories archived in the public domain.

The Republican candidate is described by some of his children (he has 5 from three marriages) as a good and loving person. During his campaign for the presidency video cameras caught him making fun of a journalist who had a handicap. He's been called a bully.

The Democratic candidate has been honored for her work with children (she has 1 child and 1 marriage) but excoriated for accepting the actions of a philandering husband. She's been called an opportunist.
