A New Cosmic Underleague Team




The MOTHERLAND MOTHERS are a new CBA team created on December 28, 1998. The MOTHERS consist mostly of mothers of interesting people.

Several of the team members have played for other cosmic baseball teams, including Naomi Ginsberg (Dharma Beats) and Frances Rossetti (Pre-Raphaelite Baseball Club). The team's General Manager, Gabrielle Kerouac is the former owner of the Dharma Beats cosmic baseball team.

In our age, much of what we think about when we think of mothers is colored by the work of Sigmund Freud and the psychoanalysts. (Freud's own mother Amalie is the firstbasemother of this team.) The theory of the Oedipus Complex is surely one profound example of Freud's influence on contemporary thought.

This reminds us of the so-called "Freudian slip" which occurs when you say one thing but mean a mother.

While a college student at Delaware University she gave brith at a motel and discarded the baby in a dumpster with the help of her boyfriend, a college student at Gettysburg University. Grossberg was later found guilty of killing her child.
