The Cosmic BIBLICALS represent characters from the Bible. Despite the fact that the team was dead last in the cosmic Underleague, with the worst won-loss record of any CBA team (64-98, .395) very few changes have been made to the players on the team. There are three rookies: Issac, Balaam and Miriam. The major changes have occured in the management of the team. Owner Aimee Semple McPherson has replaced the entire coaching and management staff. Controversial atheist Madlyn Murray O'Hair is the new field manager. Evangelists Father Divine and Billy Sunday (himself a former reality baseball player) and humanitarian Mother Theresa are the new coaches. The general manager is Dorothy Day, founder of the Catholic worker movement.Will it take more than these management changes to take this very spiritual team to a new level of performance?

Atheist born into a wealthy churchgoing family. During the 1950s she worked as a lawyer and social worker. Became, in her own words, "the most hated woman in America" when she sued the Baltimore school board to eliminate praying in public schools (1960).

Also known as "Father Divine" he founded the Peace Mission Movement (1919), a non-sectarian, interracial group that set up missions around the country. The movement reached its peak in the 1930s and 1940s and was primarily centered in Harlem, New York and Philadelphia.

Also known as Mother Theresa. She was a Roman Catholic nun who worked with the impoverished and needy. She was born to Albanian parents in Skopje. In 1928 she joined the Sisters of Loretto, an Irish order located in India and too her vows as a nun. In 1950 after years of teaching upper-class Indian girls at a convent school in Calcutta, she founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity which was dedicated to serving the poor. In 1979 she won the Nobel Peace Prize.

After a career in Major League Baseball (1883-1890) Billy Sunday became an evangelist and led religious revivals around the country. In 1903 he was ordained a Presbyterian minister and his popularity, fame and fortune rose dramatically. He helped lead the campaign for the prohibition of alcohol.

She co-founded the Catholic Worker monthly newspaper in 1933 which advocated the establishment of "hospitality" houses in cities to help victims of the Depression. The Catholic Worker movement spread across the country with the circulation of the newspaper reaching 150,000 in the late 1930s. Combined with her religious views were radical social ideas that included the support of conscientious objectors during World War II, opposition to nuclear arms. Day also opposed the United States' involvement in Vietnam. |
American evangelist who founded the Four-Square Gospel movement (1918) which used a theatrical approach to worship. In 1926 "Sister Aimee" disappeared for five weeks and upon her return she claimed she had been kidnapped. Her movement attracted thousands of people eventually amassing a fortune that included a radio station and some 400 branch churches. She was later indicted on fraud charges but the charges were dropped for lack of evidence. She died from an overdose of sleeping pills in 1944.
