The Washington Presidents joined the Cosmic Baseball Association in 1983. Comprised of United States Presidents, this cosmic team has recently begun to show some talent on the field. Last year, for the first time, the Presidents competed in the Cosmic Universal Series, ultimately losing in seven games to CBA's merry pranksters team, the Pranktown Busriders. The Washington Presidents are always managed and coached by non-presidents. Typically the manager comes from the field of unique and special Americans and the coaches are drafted from potential presidential hopefuls. Benjamin Franklin is the field manager. Al Gore, Jack Kemp, and Colin Powell are the coaches. This year's general manager is Dick Morris, the notorious presidential campaign consultant.
Individual player plates will be published during the season; links to those plates will be included on this roster. The player plates include information on the president's birth, height, weight, education, religion, occupation and death. Player plates also include external links to related sites and the president's official cosmic playing record.

Other Washington Presidents Rosters

The CBA is using the Ridings-McIver presidential rating system. The number used in the Ridings-McIver Rank on this roster represents the overall rating based on a poll conducted by William J. Ridings, Jr. and Stuart B. McIver. A complete explanation of the poll can be found by the authors in their book Rating the Presidents (Citadel Press. New Jersey. 1997.)The poll was started in 1989. Participants are mostly from the academic community including historians and political scientists. Twelve percent of those polled were women. The poll yields six separate rankings including an "overall" ranking from first to forty-first. Abraham Lincoln is ranked number one and Warren Harding comes in dead last.
In addition to the "overall" category the poll orders the presidents according to the following areas (first place occupants are in parentheses):
- Leadership Qualities (Franklin Roosevelt)
