COMMENTS:

It was a wild and wooly seventh game and the Busriders jumped out of the gate in the top of the first inning by scoring four runs including a three-run blast by the Series MCP Paul Foster and a solo job by Paula Sundsten, also-known-as "Gretchen Fetchin the Slime Queen." The Presidents fought back and took the lead in the sixth but the Busriders really had the will to win and came up with another run in the eighth and then slammed the door with a four run ninth to secure the game and the Series.

This was a batter's game as the pitchers on both sides got roughed-up early and often. A combined 26 hits were clobbered by both teams. There was at least one hit in each inning except the fifth. President Clinton settled down after a rocky first two innings but when ace reliever President Polk came in it all fell apart as he served up seven hits and five runs in three innings. Busrider pitcher Cathy Casano went the distance and won the game on the strength of her teammates who swatted sixteen hits, including five in the ninth that scored four runs and secured the victory.

It was a well-fought and exciting series. The Busriders become the first rookie cosmic team to win the Cosmic Universal Series since the Heartland Capitalists beat the Bhutan Vanguards in 1984.
