COMMENTS:After their stunning defeat in the Series' first game, the chief executives came roaring out of the gate for Game 2.
After John Quincy Adams struck out on three straight fastballs from Busrider starting pitcher Cathy Casano, to start the bottom of the first inning, James Monroe, Martn Van Buren, and Franlkin Roosevelt each hit singles to load the bases. Calvin Coolidge hit a high popout and then Robert Taft, the famed and rotund Ohio shortstop blasted Casano's first pitch over the left field fence at LaFayette Park: Presidents 4, Busriders 0. That was Taft's first of two homeruns. In the third, after Coolidge knocked out a double and Casano out of the game, Taft demolished a fastball served up by Prankstrer reliever Lex Henkels. Taft's second homerun cleared the fence and probably sailed over the Potomac and landed somewhere in Virginia. The Presidents had come back with a vengence as the score stood 6-0 after three innings.
The Busriders picked up a run in the seventh when starter Bill Clinton gave up two doubles. But otherwise, Clinton pitched a wonderful game yielding only three hits, seven strikeouts, and only one walk.
In a post-game interview President Clinton said "We were mad and embarrassed after yesterday's game. I think we just came out here today and said 'let's bury those bastard Busriders', and we did. Enough said. We're back to square one."
And off to Pranktown for Game 3.
