The CBA's Train Day game is played each year in connection with the National Train Day celebration. National Train Day was initiated four years ago essentially as an Amtrak-related marketing device. This year's Train Day game had an additional element because soldiers from the United States found plans outlining a terrorist attack on North American railroads. These plans were discovered in Osama Bin Laden's Pakistan home at the end of April and media sources have indicated there might have been a plan to attack the railroad system on the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 airplane attacks. Does the fact that the Train Accidents beat the Train Trips in this personal cosmic game have any connection or meaning to Al Qaeda's desire to wreak havoc on the railroad transportation system in the United States? A careful analysis of the boxscore and the scorecaard does not reveal anything even close to a connection. Instead, this game suggests that train travel has become increasingly safer as train technology advanced. |

This game's umpires were selected from those members of the United States House of Representatives who voted in favor of Amendment No. 43 which would have reduced Amtrak's 2011 capital grant by $446 million. The amendment was defeated, 250-176 (nayes to ayes).
