The Pisces could only manufacture three runs on thirteen hits. They won the game but it took an overdose of offensive effort. Lots of hits and few runs is not a winning formula in the long run. William Burroughs takes the loss but the numbers make you think it was a close pitching duel. It really wasn't.

The Pisces and the Beats are picking up where they left off at the end of last season when the Pisces beat the Beats in the 2006 Cosmic Universal Series. And it continues the perpetual battle between these two teams for the owner of owning the title "flagship team of the Cosmic Baseball Association." The fact is the Pisces own that honor and title by virtue of the plain fact that the Pisces were the first cosmic baseball team created. The Pisces were created nearly a year and half before the Beats. It must have been supposed that if the Beats performed exceptionally well on the cosmic playing field they might have a shot at usurping the flaghip title. That premise is doubtful but also moot since the Beats have not traditionally performed exceptionally well on the field. | |
