![]() Diane DiPrima, Game MCP It was a Beat team effort: Bremser, Huncke, and Whalen all had a run batted in. But the star of the show and the game's most cosmic player is the Beat poet Diane DiPrima who pitched a complete game, 3-hit, shutout. It was a superb pitching masterpiece by a highly honored and respected poet. Vanessa Williams sustained the loss for the Pisces Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes did not do much in his one inning of relief in the eighth except he did give up the third Beat run by offering up a double to Herbert Huncke and a single to Philip Whalen (scoring Joan Haverty who was pinch running for Huncke.) Game two tomorrow...On the mound in Dharma: American television/movie entertainer Kelsey Grammer vs. American poet William S. Burroughs...don't miss the game... |
