Political activist who was shot at by the National Guard during the Kent State University anti-war demonstration on May 4, 1970. |
James Farmer
Civil rights activist and one of the founders of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). Farmer was also secretary for race relations at the Fellowship of Reconcilliation. |
Bayard Rustin
Civil rights activist and chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington. Rustin was controversial in part because of his early association with the Communist Party and because he was homosexual. |
