Bertha Runkle
Author of the 1901 fiction bestseller, Helmet of Navarre. Her novel was also produced as a play on Broadway. There were 24 performances of the play, produced by Charles Frohman. According to internet records, Bertha was the daughter of Cornelius Runkle of New york. Her mother worked for a New York City newspaper. Bertha apparently married Lewis Bast. |
