The Bhutan Vanguards were created on December 31, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. The team represents artists, including painters and photographers. As one of the original cosmic teams created the Vanguards started out in the cosmic Sharp League. During the league reorganization of the 1990s the Vanguards landed in the Middleleague. They have been to two Cosmic Universal Series (1984 and 1992) and have an overall 1-1 record in that Series.
For Season 2000 the Vanguards drafted one rookie, cosmic infielder and early photographer Eadweard Muybridge. The team has had only one winning season in the last five years and team owner Tess Lampert made it very clear to the managers, coaches and players that major changes will be forthcoming if they aren't productive this season.
