New Cosmic Baseball Teams The Cosmic Baseball Association announced the creation of three new cosmic baseball teams that will compete during the Season 2012 regulated season. The MARYLAND MARILYNS represent a team of characters acted by the famous American actress Marilyn Monroe. The PURITAN SAUCES are a team of sauces associated with cooking and eating. The VIENNA FREUDS will field a team of mostly psychologists with some connection to the founder of psychoanalysis.

Beats Reactivate Lu Anne Henderson The Dharma Beats announced today that Lu Anne Henderson, a former member of the team will be reactivated. Henderson began her career in the Cosmic Baseball Association as a member of the Season 1983 Dharma Beats. She was an original member of the Dharma Roses in Season 1998. She was deactivated when the Roses were deactivated at the end of Season 2000. Since then she has lived a relatively quiet life away from the tumult of cosmic baseball. Lu Anne Henderson (1930-2009) was the real person that Jack Kerouac (1922-1969) named Marylou in his novel On the Road (published in 1957). She is described in the authoritative Character Key to the Duluoz Legend by Dave Moore as Neal Cassady's first wife. Born LuAnne Bullard in Peetz, Colorado. Henderson was her stepfather's name. LuAnne met Neal in 1946 and they married August 1. Travelled to New York late 1946 where they first met Kerouac and Ginsberg. Divorced from Neal, March 1948. Married Ray Murphy, 1949, and had a daughter, Anne Marie. Married Samuel Catechi, 1966. Retired to live in Sonoma, California with her last husband, Robert Skonecki, in 1990. LuAnne spent her final years in San Francisco.Henderson's reactivation occurs at the same time a book about her life with early members of the Beat Generation is available. Kerouac biographer Gerald Nicosia and Henderson's daughter Anne Marie Santos, have just published One and Only: The Untold Story of On the Road & Lu Anne Henderson, the Woman Who Started Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady on Their Journey.

Fall Rookie Draft CBA conducted the Fall Rookie Draft today. These new cosmic baseball players have a chance at playing with a regulated cosmic baseball team during the 2012 season (which begins March 15, 2012).

CBA is Thirty CBA celebrated its thirtieth anniversary with a night of baseball games at CBA's Washington DC campus. CBA began in Los Angeles, California during the Kuhn, Reagan, Mubarak, Arthur administrations. The 42 day long Major League Baseball strike had just ended, the striking air traffic controllers had just got fired, Egypt had a new acting president, and CBA had its first commissioner.

Season 2011 Ends CBA's thirtieth regulated season closed today. The DHARMA BEATS prevailed as the best regulated cosmic baseball team. A new team, the BOLEX POETICONS, came in a distant second. Traditionally, the two best regulated cosmic baseball teams compete in a series to determine the "best" team of the season. However, there will be no such series this season and therefore the DHARMA BEATS have been named the best cosmic baseball team for 2011. The Fall Rookie Draft sessions on October 19 will settle a few questions about the regulated league next season. Will there be new teams? If so, how many? Will any current teams be deactivated?
